Rapid data growth, viruses, system crashes, theft, misplaced, corrupted or stolen backup tapes are driving demand for reliable, disk-based backup solutions. In fact, businesses are estimated to spend $6.7 billion in 2010 on data protection technologies, up 30% from 2005.
Advanced Vault offers Small and Midsize businesses a cost effective all-inclusive backup and business continuity appliance.
Advanced Vault Appliance performs data backup at the block level where the actual 1's and 0's are captured, and thus significantly reducing duplicate data and bandwidth usage. Database applications such as Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Exchange Server transfer data to advanced vault with little effect on performance. Backups are can run continuously or scheduled providing an increased amount of restore points when compared to traditional tape backups. Data then can be replicated safely to another appliance or to Advanced Vault high availability, redundant off-site facilities.
Configuration
Advanced Vault Backup provides automatic, continuous data backup for servers, laptops and PCs. It backs up only block level differences within each file and then compress them so the network is not impacted. It also includes hands-free, automatic offsite backup capabilities for protection against disasters. Also, an easy to use centralized management console allows IT administrators to operate efficiently and effectively.
Incremental forever methodology
The incremental forever methodology is similar to incremental backups where each incremental performs a backup of all changes since the last backup. Where this technology differs, is that only one full backup is required. This greatly reduces the time it takes to perform backups as each incremental takes only seconds to complete.
Base backup
Base backup is the first full backup taken. This base backup serves as a foundation for all future incremental backups. The Incremental backups provde many point-in-time recovery points.
Recovery options
Recovering files and folders is simple. Select the point-in-time desired and resotre your files instantly. Advanced Vault also offers Exchange mailboxe level restoration.
Virtualization of failed servers
Bare metal recovery option allows you to virtualize failed servers using the most recent image before failure. No configurations or changes are necessary as the server retains the same IP address and all other configurations. Once virtualized, the backup process will resume normally. This feature provides the business a replacement server until repairs are made or new hardware is purchased. When new hardware arrives, the virtual image can be shutdown and the latest backup image can be used to perform a bare metal install on the new hardware.
Bare Metal RestoreAdvanced Vault offers bare-metal recovery capabilities. This process allows restorations to similar or dissimilar hardware. Once the image is loaded onto the new server you can manipulate the hardware abstraction layer by injecting new drivers for the new hardware.
Recovery after a catastrophe with data replication to our facility service
In the event of a catastrophe (such as a natural disaster or fire), you can purchase new appliance that will contain your data or you can download your data from our servers for free.
Recovery after a Catastrophe with data replication to second appliance on your network
In the event of a catastrophe (such as a natural disaster or fire), you would relocate your second appliance to where you wish to recover your data and begin the file recovery at high speeds.
